Day 8: Box Canyon Hike in Ouray. Still fabulous. This time we did the hike on the other side of the valley. Went through the falls on old scaffolding which lead up to a cave, through a tunnel and then back down the other side. Peanut butter crackers and a pack of M&M's served as the currency to motivate these 4 little troopers up the 96 steps to the summit. Allie's knee hurt, but with her buddy in tow, she woman'd up and did it without too much complaint. Okay, plenty of complaint out of ear shot from the rest of the crew.
At the end of the hike, we stopped to look at the gorgeous piece of land our new friends had recently purchased for their dream home. It was so beautiful that Jay Jay had to break away and meditate. I don't know why he meditates sometimes, maybe from watching me do yoga. But he gets all crossed legged, closes his eyes, drops 3 or 4 ohm's and then is reset and ready to go. They decided to play on this big rock. Little Zach was appointed the president of the rock and Jay Jay promptly designated himself the advisor to the president. None of the responsibility and all the power. I like the way this boy thinks.
Fabulous. I am so hoping this round of pictures makes it through the technology maze to the blog.
